This resource details a study exploring how racism operates at multiple levels to create barriers to prenatal care access, contributing to poor birth outcomes including preterm delivery and low birth weight. Through interviews and focus groups with community stakeholders and affected women, the research aims to uncover the complex ways that structural and institutional racism, provider biases, and discriminatory experiences in healthcare settings deter Black women from seeking timely prenatal care, ultimately informing DC Health’s efforts to address these persistent racial health inequities.
