The Cultural and Linguistic Competence Health Practitioner Assessment (CLCHPA) is a comprehensive self-guided learning tool developed by Georgetown University’s National Center for Cultural Competence to help healthcare professionals enhance their ability to serve diverse patient populations and address health disparities. This online assessment evaluates practitioners across five key areas: knowledge of diverse populations, adapting practice methods, promoting community health, linguistic competence, and understanding health disparities. Based on psychometric analysis of over 2,500 healthcare professionals, the CLCHPA provides personalized feedback comparing individual scores to established norms and offers customized professional development resources tailored to each user’s specific needs and competency levels. The assessment recognizes that cultural and linguistic competence is an ongoing process, and provides practitioners with actionable insights and educational materials to continuously improve their cross-cultural healthcare delivery skills.
