What to Expect & When to Seek Help: Bright Futures Developmental Tools for Families and
Providers
is a series of briefs designed to help families and healthcare providers assess and support healthy social and emotional development in infants and young children. This resource provides family-friendly guidance on what to expect during normal child development alongside clear indicators of when professional help should be sought. The briefs also include referral resources and community service locators, all aimed at promoting early identification of developmental concerns and connecting families with appropriate support services.

This series contains five briefs, four of which focus on a specific stage of childhood development, and one aimed at providers with information on how to create a referral network. There is also a Bright Futures website that contains these briefs, as well as other related resources.
