The National Technical Assistance Center for Children’s Mental Health at Georgetown University, partnering with the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors, conducted their third annual environmental scan in 2015 to examine how states are implementing Affordable Care Act provisions that specifically address mental health services for children, youth, and young adults. This comprehensive tracking project surveyed children’s mental health directors and other knowledgeable officials across 49 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam to monitor progress in ACA implementation, identify emerging activities, and gather information about state approaches to health reform that impact pediatric mental health services.
