Deborah F. Perry, PhD is a research professor who provides leadership on a broad portfolio of applied research and rigorous program evaluations. One of the core themes of Deborah's working is building partnerships with state and local organizations to design, evaluate and refine preventive interventions for low-income pregnant and postpartum people.  Her work is guided by a community-based participatory mixed methods approach. She has served as the external evaluation partner for several local government and community-based agencies including the DC Department of Health, DC Department of Behavioral Health, Mamatoto Village and the Early Childhood Innovation Network. Deborah has led efforts to build the evidence base for the effectiveness of infant and early childhood mental health consultation. She also serves as the director of research and evaluation for the Georgetown University Health Justice Alliance—a medical-legal partnership that seeks to reduce the effects of health-harming legal issues for vulnerable families in DC.
